The area of production of the DOCG Malanotte del Piave begins where the River Piave escapes of the Dolomite mountains and opens to the plains of Treviso, which then cross the Venetian mainland.
Raboso del Piave has always been considered as “The Wine” of this area: it is a great quality wine with a unique caratheristic of high acidity of its wines.
At the end of the last century they reintroduced the method of drying the grapes (raisining) in the production of Raboso del Piave, enhancing an ancient technique to produce a modern wine.
The wine Malanotte del Piave DOCG ages for almost 36 months, of wich 12 in oak barrels.
It's red tending to garnet, impenetrable, it opens with hints of fruity jam (sour cherry) and spices of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. It continues with liquorice and balsamic hints, with light flavors of chocolate and pipe tobacco. In the mouth it is powerful, but also inviting, without being aggressive. It ensures cleanliness and persistence in a very attractive balance. Also try it with venison or jugged hare.
